I just don't understand why sony would release a new ps2 model. the only reason I've got in mind is that their strategy could be this:
ps2 for ps2 games
ps3 for ps3 games
The most relevant reason why sony chose to phase out the 80gb model and go with the 40gb. and surely it costs less to produce a ps2 and a 40 gb ps3 instead of one 80gb model. That's what I think.

True, I bought it back in June, I'm pleased with it+ the free cagney update which added new things and 1080i support. I like that thing. And ,soon there will be trophy support, man I want them!
i'm kind of tired to perform these updates. seriously, 2.41 worked fine with me, why release 2.42 and now 2.43. come on. but I had problems with 2.40, when I turned off the console, it turned itself back on in remote play.
